Alan Shearer has included Leeds United duo Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha in his Team of the Week after the 1-0 win against Everton.
The Whites got their first win at Goodison Park in 30 years, and it was Raphinha with his first goal for the club that sealed all three points.
Phillips has taken the majority of the plaudits though, with the 24-year-old taking home the man of the match award from Merseyside.
Shearer was very complimentary of Phillips, claiming that it was a complete performance from the England international.
“A complete man-of-the-match performance, with his range of passing a standout feature,” he wrote.
The Premier League record goal-scorer believed that Raphinha was unlucky not to find the back of the net more than once in his second start.
“Scored the winner and was unlucky to see a great header brilliantly saved.”
First of all, Phillips was superb.
The Yorkshire Pirlo appears back to his best since his return from injury, and he topped nearly every single category at Goodison Park.
Phillips covered the most distance, had the most touches and also made the highest number of passes against the Toffees.
Raphinha got the winner and was a constant threat.
Both are worthy of their spots in the Team of the Week, and Shearer could have picked any of this team, and there wouldn’t have been any questions asked.
