Brighton join Leeds United in race to sign Red Bull Salzburg defender Rasmus Kristensen

Leeds United have reportedly been joined by fellow Premier League side Brighton in the race for Rasmus Kristensen.

According to 90Min, the Red Bull Salzburg defender is also wanted by Borussia Dortmund and is on Brentford’s shortlist this summer.

It is understood that the Austrian side would want a fee in the region of £10million to part ways with the 24-year-old.

Competition intensifies

Kristensen appears to be a defender in demand this summer and looks like he will be leaving Austria in the coming months.

Whether or not that’s for Germany or Great Britain, remains to be seen, as he could be tempted by Dortmund’s lure of Champions League football.

The Denmark international is an attacking right-back and would fit in perfectly into Jesse Marsch’s system at the club.

The fact that the American has previously worked with him, could help in getting this deal over the line.

If Marsch really wants him then Victor Orta must do everything he can to secure his services as Luke Ayling has not been at his best this past season.

He played 64 times under the current Leeds boss and they did enjoy a good relationship so he could be open to reuniting with him in the best league in the world.

However, what is unlikely to happen is the Austrian side bringing down their valuation due to the number of teams that are interested in his services.

In Leeds United news, an under-the-radar court case involving the transfer of a Leeds player has reached its conclusion with the final payout revealed.
