Bright Osayi-Samuel makes shocking transfer decision with Leeds United and Bournemouth in hunt

Fenerbache defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has reportedly made a “shocking” decision amid interest from Leeds United and Bournemouth.

According to Aspor [29 May], he will be made redundant in the summer as he wants to quit and return to English football

It’s understood that the Turkish club will part ways with the Nigeria international for a fee in the region of £8.7million this summer.

Who pays the money?

While that’s a mouth-watering sum for a Premier League club, Championship sides find it harder to shell out that kind of money.

Leeds, unfortunately, are now a second-tier club and need to be more vigilant on whom they end up spending money on.

It’s very plausible that before any new signings, they need to check which players will be leaving the club and then decide on the incomings.

A number of first-team players who are likely to command decent transfer fees may all be leaving the club and based on how much money they rake in, transfers can be planned.

There’s also the doubt of who will be spending the money as there is an agreement for a takeover but the valuation was based on Leeds being a Premier League side.

It remains to be seen if the San Francisco 49ers go ahead with the purchase or decide to hold back and see how things pan out.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
