Brian Deane backs Daniel Farke and calls for stability at Leeds United

Brian Deane has urged Leeds United to stick by Daniel Farke ahead of next season despite missing out on promotion to the Premier League this season.

The Whites fell to defeat at Wembley against Southampton which condemned them to yet another season of Championship football.

This resulted in some conversation over the future of Farke in the dugout at Elland Road moving into next season.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post (2 June), Deane has told Leeds to keep the German in charge after having a generally positive campaign.

He said: “Absolutely. Why not? There’s too much talk of managers being replaced, generally. And the problem is, if you’re going to replace him, who do you bring in? You need stability at clubs, you need an opportunity.

“When we were in and around January, February time, when everything was going well for Leeds, everybody was saying what a good job he was doing. So, I don’t see why people have the right now to turn around and say, well, he’s not the man.”

Leeds United should stick by Daniel Farke

It has to be said that for his first season in charge of the club, he got his side playing his football and it worked for the majority of the season.

The German dealt with plenty of squad turnover which can’t have been easy given the uncertainty over the course of the summer.

Despite bringing in the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara and Joel Piroe, Farke got the best out of players already at the club.

Arguably the three best players at Elland Road this campaign were Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray.

That trio were all at the club prior to the manager coming in and they have all come on leaps and bounds since he joined.

There is no doubt that Farke deserves another crack at the Championship with Elland Roads, there isn’t much better out there.

Not getting promoted is greatly frustrating but it isn’t the right time to let the manager go.

In other Leeds United news, Goodman has made a promotion prediction should a certain Farke development play out.
