Brett Ormerod makes ‘massive’ Leeds United admission in new promotion warning
Brett Ormerod has labelled Leeds United as a “massive club” and admitted that they have a good chance of winning promotion this season, but has sent them a new warning.
Daniel Farke’s side have started the Championship season excellently and currently sit third in the table, seven points behind Ipswich Town in the automatic promotion places and well in the hunt to return to the Premier League.
While former Whites loanee Ormerod has admitted the Whites have a good chance of finishing in the top two, he believes Farke’s side may struggle in the Premier League due to the huge difference in standard between the divisions.

As quoted by Football League World (5 December) he said: “I think Leeds have a good chance of getting promoted this year. They’re a massive club with a great fanbase and I really do hope they get promoted.
“The problem is, the gap between the Premier League is bigger than ever before. Last year, Burnley walked the Championship as much as I’ve ever seen from any club who’s dropped down and I’m talking about the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle and those teams who’ve been in the second tier.
“Burnley were outstanding last season and now they’re struggling like mad. They’re playing well but they get punished for mistakes that go unnoticed in the Championship.”
One step at a time
Leeds United can’t yet be worrying about how they’ll cope in the Premier League as they still have a lot of football to play in the Championship and loads to play for as they attempt to close the gap between them and the automatic promotion places.
The Whites still have 27 matches to play in the league this season and judging by the pace set by Ipswich and Leicester in the early stages of the campaign, they are going to have to continue to pick up points if they want to win automatic promotion.

While the gap between the Championship and the top flight is clear to see as Burnley, Luton and Sheffield United all are struggling since winning promotion, Leeds have been there before and managed to thrive after winning promotion.
It will take some clever investment and good coaching, but the Whites can be a success in the Premier League. But first, they must ensure that they win promotion and they cannot afford to get ahead of themselves.
In other Leeds United, Crysencio Summerville has been left stunned by one of his teammate’s recent performances labelling them “the best”
