Brenden Aaronson to be ‘bit-part’ player at Leeds United under Javi Gracia – Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has suggested Brenden Aaronson could be a “bit-part” player for Leeds United in the second half of the 2022/23 season.
Jesse Marsch’s summer signing has been used as a substitute in Leeds’ last three games having previously been a consistent starter for the majority of the campaign.
Robinson feels the Whites have “better players” ahead of the American but does still see the 22-year-old making an impact off the bench.

“As far as Aaronson goes, he was excellent in the first half of the season but he’s come off of it in recent weeks,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“He’s not been a regular starter. His pressing, attacking threat and defensive capabilities are excellent but at times he’s become a bit of a wasp in a bottle. A lot of effort without any end product and I think that’s been the case of late.
“But with players like Summerville, Gnonto and Tyler Adams coming into the side and especially with Weston McKennie coming into the side, he’s going to be a bit-part player going forward for the second half of the season.

“He’s a great player to have off of the bench and you wouldn’t worry about him if he starts a game but I just think there are better players in his role, but he can have an impact off the bench.”
The American international enjoyed a fine start to the season, scoring in Leeds’ impressive win over Chelsea at Elland Road.
However, he has failed to register a goal or an assist since 12 November, which has coincided with the Whites’ poor run of form.
