Bournemouth interested in permanent deal for Leeds talent Leif Davis – Smyth

Bournemouth have been interested in a permanent move for Leeds United talent Leif Davis this summer.

That’s according to Graham Smyth, who has shared that although the deal has gone quiet recently, the demand has been there.

There will be plenty of exits from the under-23s this summer, including some who have already made their first-team breakthroughs.

Writing in an official Q&A for the Yorkshire Evening Post, Smyth shared the players that could leave Elland Road this summer.

“Bournemouth were keen on Leif Davis a few months ago, for a permanent deal, although that’s gone quite quiet now,” he wrote.

“Players who were out on loan last season seem likely to go out again this season.”

Interest.

Marcelo Bielsa has been full of praise for Davis in the past, we all remember “very good Davis” from pre-season last year.

It could be a summer packed with exits, as well as arrivals, with Oliver Casey already leaving the club in search of more minutes.

Davis could find himself well down the pecking order at Elland Road, especially with Bielsa potentially signing one, if not two left-backs in this window.

That would be a real blow to his progression, with the youngster surely wanting to push on and become part of the first-team squad after Barry Douglas and potentially Ezgjan Alioski leave.

Bournemouth could easily come back in for Davis as the window progresses, but with Jonathan Woodgate leaving this week, whoever their new manager may be could have different plans.

This is one to watch.
