Bournemouth enquire about Leeds United defender Cody Drameh

Bournemouth have enquired about the possibility of signing Leeds United right-back Cody Drameh in the summer transfer window, according to Wales Online.

The 20-year-old has spent the second half of the 2021/22 season out on loan at Championship side Cardiff City where he has been one of Steve Morison’s star players.

His marauding runs down the Bluebirds’ right-hand side has now caught the eye of Bournemouth manager Scott Parker who would like to make him part of his Cherries side next season.

Wales Online report that “If he (Drameh) is not guaranteed regular game time at Leeds United then he would be keen to countenance a move back to the Welsh capital.”

He already has Premier League games under his belt during Marcelo Bielsa’s reign and the Argentine was keen to keep him at Elland Road in January but the 20-year-old forced a move through late in the window.

Must keep him

While Jesse Marsch will be very content with what he’s seen from Luke Ayling since he joined the club in February, he will be equally aware of the chatter surrounding Drameh.

His stint at Cardiff City has proved why Bielsa was so keen for him to stay and be a part of the squad as he’s shone brightly up against some of the hottest talent in the Championship.

He was sent to the Welsh capital to see if he could cope with playing every week at such a high level and he has answered all the questions asked of him with ease.

Marsch now has a major decision to make as to whether he integrates Drameh in now and move Ayling to either centre-half or second-fiddle, or sell the 20-year-old while his stock is high.

The 48-year-old would be bonkers to do the latter though with Bournemouth looking likely to gain promotion back to the Premier League this season which could see Drameh come back to bite the Whites sooner than we all expect.

In other Leeds United news, another Whites loanee is in limbo as he returns to fitness over whether he will play again for his temporary side.
