Boubacar Kamara touted as 'the next big thing' amid Leeds United links
Leeds United are continuing to pursue Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara and the 22-year-old has received some very high praise from the media.
The Mirror’s David Anderson has hailed Kamara’s impact at Marseille and he is not surprised to hear of the interest from Leeds and other clubs in England.
Kamara’s fitness is a particular attribute that has attracted interest as he is yet to miss a minute of Ligue 1 football this season.
“Kamara is an interesting one because they [Leeds] did look at him and they considered him, I’m told, last year,” Anderson said to Give Me Sport.
“Obviously, [Manchester] United are looking at him as well, so he’s a player who has gained a lot of attraction.
“He’s not a full French international but he’s seen as one of the next big things.”
Blueprint of a Bielsa player
If you wanted to describe the perfect Marcelo Bielsa midfielder, you would be describing Boubacar Kamara.
A relentless engine and the bite that can see him win the ball high up the pitch makes him a frustrating opponent for any top player.
He is yet to play anywhere other than at Marseille where he came through the youth ranks but maybe now is the time for him to spread his wings and leave the nest.
The stumbling block for Leeds United could be his £150,000 weekly wage demands that would usurp any of the current Whites squad by some distance. [The Sun]
He would no doubt slot right into Bielsa’s team but maybe that mammoth wage will be a bridge too far for Leeds.
With Kalvin Phillips mooted with a summer move away from Elland Road, Kamara could be the perfect replacement for the England international.
