Blackburn Rovers player pulled away from Farke as Leeds game boils over

Lewis Travis had to be pulled away from Daniel Farke by Blackburn teammates after Leeds United lost 1-0 at Ewood Park on Saturday, according to Graham Smyth.

Farke cut a frustrated figure after the Whites missed the chance to go back to the top of the Championship table on 30 November and was involved in an exchange with Travis after the full-time whistle.

However, both parties quickly set their differences aside and left the pitch of comparatively better terms after sharing a hug.

It is no wonder that Farke was visibly infuriated after the game at Ewood Park as Leeds’ performance, particularly in the first half, left much to be desired, contrary to their 3-0 win over Luton on Wednesday [27 November].

Todd Cantwell put the hosts in front via a penalty in the 22nd minute after Ao Tanaka conceded a spot-kick.

Attempts to salvage a point, let alone all three points, went in vain despite the Whites having 72 per cent possession and bringing the likes of Patrick Bamford, Manor Solomon and Mateo Joseph on in the second half.

Farke, meanwhile, did not hold himself back from having a go at the referee after the full-time whistle, as Beren Cross of LeedsLive spotted him expressing his anger at the official.

The Elland Road outfit have now fallen three points behind Sheffield United, who beat promotion rivals Sunderland 1-0 with 10 men at Bramall Lane on Friday [29 November].

Farke and co will now look to bounce back from the defeat when they face Derby County at home next Saturday, 7 December.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites may price this player out of a transfer from Elland Road.
