Bielsa sympathises with Bruce’s situation with the Newcastle United fans

Leeds travel to Newcastle on Friday evening for their fifth Premier League clash, and Marcelo Bielsa has sympathised with Steve Bruce.

The Toon manager is under pressure following his side’s winless start to the new campaign, and the fans are calling for his head.

Bruce has never been popular with the Newcastle supporters since replacing Rafa Benitez in the summer of 2019, and Bielsa is unhappy to see them turning against his counterpart.

Leeds United

The Leeds boss said ahead of his side’s trip to St. James’ Park (as shared by Football Daily official Twitter account): “I always feel saddened when this happens to a manager. When some of the fans go against him.

“It’s one of the worst feelings that a manager can have.”

Unfortunate

Bruce is definitely frustrated with the developments at Newcastle, and despite keeping his side up in the last two seasons, he will never win.

Leeds have only picked up two points so far this season, and they are in the hunt for their first league victory tonight.

A loss will further compound the woes of the Magpies head coach, and Bielsa will be glad he does not have such a job.

Despite the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday, the Whites fans cheered on the Argentine [The Athletic], and they completely adore him regardless of the results.

He is in his fourth season at Elland Road, and the warm reception he receives in and outside the stadium definitely played a huge role in his decision to remain in Yorkshire.

Leeds United

Bruce has not been afforded the same treatment by Newcastle fans, and he will not be getting one anytime soon.

Leeds fans will never turn on Bielsa given how they have treated him with respect over the years, and their Toon counterparts could learn one or two things from them.
