‘Best I’ve seen’ – Kalvin Phillips wowed by one Leeds player after win v Huddersfield
Kalvin Phillips has hailed Luke Ayling for scoring the best goal he’s seen as Leeds United won 2-0 against Huddersfield on Saturday.
Ayling, 28, lifted the roof off of Elland Road in the third minute when he scored a stunning first-time volley after charging into the penalty area.
While the teamwork that built up to Tyler Roberts’ goal at Hull last week led to calls for that to be the goal of the season, plenty of fans are bound to have changed their minds already after what Ayling did against the Terriers.
Ayling’s celebration also got fans talking.
The right-back let his hair down, went to his knees and started playing the air guitar.
While his goal was amazing, we’re not too sure if the celebration will be heralded quite as much.

Still, absent midfielder Phillips seemed to enjoy Ayling’s heroics against Huddersfield, saying: “Best I’ve seen”.
Phillips wasn’t the only Leeds player to praise Ayling with Roberts, Ian Poveda and Barry Douglas also commenting on the right-back’s latest Instagram post.
Ayling’s goal was special and could be seen as the moment where Leeds fans started to really feel as though they were going to win promotion back to the Premier League.
Not only did their victory over Huddersfield move them to the top of the Championship table, it also moved them seven points clear of third-placed Fulham, who drew with Bristol City earlier in the day.
No team in the top-half has won their last two league matches other than Leeds and that is definitely saying something.
In other Leeds United news, Neil Warnock has made an admission about the Whites being “sloppy” after their win over Huddersfield.
