Beren Cross shares if Leeds United table bid for Charles De Ketelaere amid AC Milan interest

Leeds United have reportedly not yet submitted an official bid for Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere.

According to LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross, the interest from AC Milan in the 21-year-old could be too strong for them to compete with.

This comes after the Daily Mail reported on that the Whites had tabled a bid in the region of £26million for the Belgium international.

Cross wrote in his Q&A, “I am not led to believe a bid had gone in when I last checked. They like him, but do wonder whether this AC Milan interest is going to be too strong for them to compete with.”

Lengthy battle

If Leeds are hell-bent on signing the Belgian then they’re in for a long-drawn battle in order to get this deal over the line.

Initial reports suggest that the player is not too fussed about an Elland Road move as they were in a relegation battle last season and will not offer him any European football.

However, if they can match his salary demands and guarantee him game time in the best league in the world, he could be tempted to give this a go.

There’s only so much exposure he can get at Brugge and if he wants to make a name on the European stage as Raphinha did, then a move to Leeds may not be the worst thing in the world.

Signing him would most likely mean breaking their transfer record but with the expected sales of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, they will have the money to do so.

Also, the fans will be extremely disgruntled if they do not see a summer of big spending from the club if they’re going to lose their best two players.

In other Leeds United news, the club have now opened talks with an ‘Incredible’ title-winning central midfielder to replace Kalvin Phillips.
