Beren Cross shares if Leeds move for Lewis O’Brien is imminent

Leeds United and their move for Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien isn’t imminent as things stand, according to Beren Cross.

The Sun have reported that talks are intensifying, and the Whites will need to pay £10million for the 22-year-old.

Leeds Live journalist, Cross, has suggested that Victor Orta is rarely off his phone, but no deal is about to be announced.

Speaking on Facebook for Leeds Live this week, Cross was questioned on the ongoing talks for the midfielder.

“There is nothing imminent by the sounds of it,” he said.

“Lewis O’Brien, from what I’ve read, is someone who interests them, but it doesn’t sound like it’s anywhere near down the track.

“It sounds as if that one was to happen, they would still need to jump through a fair few hoops from this point onwards.

“Of course, these things change very quickly and Victor Orta is rarely off the phone.”

All eyes on Orta.

Leeds are looking as though they need reinforcements.

Based on last season, when the likes of Kalvin Phillips were injured, we crumbled and had no out-and-out replacement.

O’Brien has been working with Carlos Corberna for the past year, and the Spaniard has adopted Marcelo Bielsa’s methods in West Yorkshire.

This short clip on Twitter, shared by Josh Hobbs, proves that the 22-year-old could be the perfect link between defence and midfield.

Alan Nixon shared that the Whites need to up their offer to seal this deal, so it appears straightforward on paper.

Orta may be glued to his phone, but Andrea Radrizzani needs to give him the money to get this one over the line.
