Beren Cross: Leeds United unlikely to start Luke Ayling for Crystal Palace clash
Beren Cross believes that Leeds United defender Luke Ayling will not start ahead of Rasmus Kristensen when they take on Crystal Palace.
According to the LeedsLive journalist, Kristensen was remarkably better and could retain his position on Sunday when Leeds visit Selhurst Park.
Ayling did come off the bench v Aston Villa as he’s working his way back to full fitness but is unlikely to start over the weekend.
Cross wrote, “Ayling didn’t repeat his Brentford impact, for me, on Sunday, while Kristensen was markedly better. I think the Dane has seen off that challenge for now and will be backed to continue from the start this Sunday.”
Jesse Marsch does have certain choices to make when it comes to his team selections for the Palace clash and this is one of them.
Ayling who has just returned from his injury is yet to fully win his place back in the side.
Kristensen may have struggled in a few games, but by and large, he’s been adapting slowly but surely to the Premier League and understands Marsch’s system.
The American may look to alternate the two defenders before he finds the right option and that is completely understandable.
Hopefully, Leeds return to winning ways as they have struggled in their last two games and desperate need fortunes to turn around.
Before football takes a break for the World Cup, we’re hoping that they’re further away from the relegation zone than they are now as they would not want another scrap at the wrong end of the table.
