Beren Cross: Leeds interest in Romain Perraud has gone cold
Leeds United have let their interest in Brest defender Romain Perraud go cold this summer, according to Beren Cross.
The Leeds Live journalist has shared the major update with the Frenchman looking set to join Premier League rivals Southampton.
Alex Crook reported this week that the Saints are looking to complete their business quickly, with Perraud set to be one of their first arrivals.
Writing for Leeds Live on Friday, Cross shared the update that suggests the Whites are looking elsewhere this summer.
“Romain Perraud was one of the first serious names to be strongly linked with Elland Road,” he wrote.
“The Frenchman continues to tick a lot of boxes for upwardly-mobile Premier League clubs, but interest at Leeds is understood to have gone cold.”
Victor Orta has learned throughout his time at Elland Road to always have a trick up your sleeve, and he will have numerous target.
Perraud was the first name to be mentioned, along with Nicolas Tagliafico and Javi Galan, as Ezgjan Alioski looks destined for the exit door.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Orta has already held talks with an unnamed left-back during this window.
It appears as though that player will be the main priority, not Perrraud or any of the other named options.
We will get our first sight of Perraud next season likely, although it will probably be for Southampton when they turn up at Elland Road.
Orta wanted his business done before July, so hopefully, we should get to learn the identity of the mystery man sooner rather than later.
