Beren Cross impressed by Leeds United star Patrick Bamford
LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross was left wowed by Leeds United star Patrick Bamford’s performance against Villarreal on Saturday night.
The 27-year-old started the Whites’ 2-2 draw with the Europa League champions and was handed an 8/10 rating for his display in which he scored a goal.
Cross claimed that Bamford was “excellent” and that he was “pestering” and “harrying”. He also said he was a “pressing nuisance for Villarreal”. The former Chelsea forward scored 17 Premier League goals last season, and on the evidence of this display, he is ready to pick up where he left off.

A fantastic display from Bamford!
Bamford clearly impressed Cross with his all-round display and not just his goal, which was a simple finish from close range after a header had hit the crossbar.
However, he was where all good strikers should be at the right place at the right time to convert, while he could have added to his tally with a strike that smashed the bar [Leeds United’s official Twitter page].

So, this was a strong display from Bamford, and he looks raring to go for the season ahead. He was unbelievable last year and was very unlucky not to make England’s Euros squad, in our opinion.
Marcelo Bielsa clearly has total faith in him, and we hope that he has a strong season for the Whites as they look to push on.
Certainly, Cross was impressed by the 27-year-old, and we would be surprised if Bamford doesn’t continue where he left off last season.
