Ben Parker blown away by Crysencio Summerville for Leeds U23s v Fulham

Ben Parker was blown away by Leeds United under-23s winger Crysencio Summerville during Monday’s clash against Fulham.

The flying Dutchman has had a brilliant weekend, featuring on the bench in the Premier League for the first time against Manchester United.

Parker admitted that he is glad he has retired when watching the pace on offer from Summerville, who caused constant problems down the right for the champions.

Speaking on live coverage of Monday’s game on LUTV, Parker was lost for words when handing shining praise to the winger.

“He’s the type of player that I’m so glad I’ve retired,” he said.

“I’d hate to play against someone like him. You mentioned his movement off the ball, it’s absolutely fantastic, whether he gets the pass or not, or he creates space for someone else.

“He’s always looking to create opportunities for himself or his teammates.”

Marcelo Bielsa has clearly been watching the under-23s closely, and Summerville’s flair and pace has certainly caught the eye of El Loco.

The Dutch talent will have been given a huge confidence boost to have been included in such a big game against Manchester United on Sunday, and he highlighted that on Monday.

Summerville may look small, but his ability to just leave defenders in the dirt as he bursts past them is wonderful to watch, and that is something we need more of in the first team.

The speed demon has shown it all this season, scoring a hat-trick against Burnley, and even delivering a trio of assists against Middlesbrough; his time in the first-team is coming, and we can’t wait already.
