Ben Dinnery: Leeds United star Raphinha picks up thigh injury, 75% chance of start v Brighton

Leeds United star Raphinha picked up a thigh injury on Wednesday evening [11 May] as Chelsea left Elland Road with all three points, according to Ben Dinnery.

The injury expert shared the update after Jesse Marsch admitted his substitution was precautionary ahead of huge games against Brighton and Brentford across the next two weeks.

Dinnery shared that Raphinha has a 75% chance of starting for the Whites in the first of those huge remaining games at Elland Road against Brighton on Sunday [15 May].

Sharing the news on his official injury website, Dinnery shared the major update on the Brazilian as fans were left gasping as he was taken off against Chelsea.

This would be a huge blow.

We have everything crossed that it was only a cramp but given that he was forced off despite his own protests, he could have been close to muscle damage.

At first, it looked as though it was a hamstring issue and that would have been disastrous.

We’re hoping that with rest on Thursday, and possibly even Friday could give Raphinha the green light to start against Brighton and that is something we are desperate for.

Everyone knows that the winger has not been good enough in recent months, but he is quickly looking like our final hope for survival if he can hit the heights we know he can.

Jesse Marsch clearly has little idea of what to do anymore, with his tactics being decimated by injuries, suspension and the fact that the players have no clue what they are doing.

We need some, any kind of good news across the next 48 hours and at this moment in time, it looks as though Raphinha being available may be the only way that could happen.
