Belgian journalist shares Manuel Benson to Leeds United transfer verdict in late January news
Alexandre Braeckman has shared that the rumours surrounding Leeds United with a late January move for Burnley attacker Manuel Benson seem legit.
The RTL Sport journalist reacted on X after it was reported on Thursday 25 January that the Whites are pushing to sign the Belgian attacker with new talks already held [Sacha Tavolieri].
Southampton are also said to be in the mix for the Burnley attacker, who has found himself down the pecking order in the Premier League at Turf Moor.
No brainer?
With the apparent injury to Dan James joining Wilfried Gnonto and the reliance on Georginio Rutter in the middle, it appears that Leeds could do with one more attacking option.
Daniel Farke has made it no secret that there are a couple of gaps in his side, with the more glaring problem at full-back at this moment in time at Elland Road.
Benson set the Championship alight last season as he fired Burnley to promotion, but something must not be right with Vincent Kompany after an apparent snub in this campaign.
Replying to a Leeds fan, Braeckman wrote: “Seems legit, isn’t it.”
Leeds will not care one bit if they can take advantage of that though, and this will certainly be one to watch before the February 1 deadline, which is only one week away now.
Benson may not be the only new face either, with a busy week for the 49ers and Farke ahead.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that the Whites are seriously considering acceptable offers for one player with a new signing on the cards.
