Behind-the-scenes clip at Thorp Arch shows big boost for Leeds ahead of clash v Fulham

Leeds United have revealed footage of Pablo Hernandez returning to training at Thorp Arch on Thursday after missing the defeat to Cardiff.

Hernandez, 35, was forced to sit on the sidelines as Leeds lost 2-0 to the Bluebirds on Sunday, resulting in them failing to re-take top-spot from West Brom in the Championship standings.

It is not the first time that Leeds have struggled without Hernandez this season.

The Spaniard has missed 10 Championship fixtures this season and the Whites have won just three of those games.

Thankfully, he is back in contention to play this weekend when Leeds take on Fulham in their first match back at Elland Road since their win over Huddersfield in March.

Here is the clip of him going through his paces ahead of this weekend’s action, as shown on Leeds’ official Twitter account:

Although it is a big boost to see Hernandez back in training, we still cannot be sure that he will start against Fulham.

Bielsa said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday that the ex-Swansea midfielder still needs to undergo a fitness test before we know for sure whether or not he can play.

Just getting him on the bench would be significant.

As good as Tyler Roberts is and as much as we rate him, he is no Hernandez and we need the Spanish maestro in the midfield because he’s the player that makes Leeds tick.

We’ll refer back to that 30 per cent win ratio without Hernandez in the side.

In games that Hernandez has played, Leeds have won 50 per cent of the time.

We need him.

In other Leeds United news, Bielsa has responded to being asked if Jean-Kevin Augustin will play again this season.
