BBC saga leads to Leeds United carnage at Elland Road in 2-2 draw v Brighton

There reportedly was carnage around Elland Road with regard to the ongoing BBC saga for the game between Leeds United and Brighton on Saturday, 11 March.

According to the Athletic [13 March], Conor McNamara was supposed to do the commentary for Match of the Day and was at the stadium premises but did not enter.

Eventually, radio commentary went ahead for the game, with Ian Dennis covering the game alone as co-comms Leon Osman stepped down.

The report read what a source shared, “The fixture chosen this week was Leeds vs Brighton at Elland Road, where those working on the BBC coverage received conflicting messages leading up to kick-off. Guidance seemed to change by the hour as chaos was raging in Salford and London, with one source describing it as “carnage”.

Madness

This entire saga has just exposed how hypocritical and flawed the media elite truly are and we’re delighted to see so many stand with Gary Lineker.

People associated with the BBC have said far worse and nothing of the kind has happened to them so it was needed to prove to everyone what was going on.

We’re surprised that Dennis even wanted to do the game, but he’s an employee and not an ex player so it was perhaps something above his pay grade.

There’s now been an apology so hopefully, everything can return to normal but this incident is certainly going to taint the image of the BBC.

Leeds secured a point from the game and now they will be looking to go into the international break on the back of three points when they take on Wolves.

That game is going to be very important as Wolves are right there in the relegation battle as a few points separate at least eight or nine teams in the Premier League.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared a massive regret of the Elland Road faithful as the club made an official announcement a few days ago.
