BBC pundit shares promotion verdict as Leeds United announce Daniel Farke while Sheffield Wednesday hire Xisco Munoz
Carlton Palmer has reacted to the news of Championship duo Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday making new managerial appointments.
The Whites brought in former Norwich manager Daniel Farke to help them seal promotion right back to the Premier League.
Wednesday, on the other hand, turned to former Watford boss Xisco Munoz after he was sacked by Famagusta in January after a five-game losing run.
Palmer, a BBC Sport pundit, wrote on Twitter, “Did not expect anything else, no manager worth is salt would work for Chansiri. Leeds get Daniel and will get promoted. Let’s see I have an open mind but certainly not convinced or surprised.”
Good move
Farke has got a track record of being in this situation multiple times and unlike Munoz, who got sacked shortly after promotion, the German managed to get relegated and help them bounce back up.
He was seldom criticised for his tactics and the onus was on Norwich for not backing their manager enough when they should have.
After Farke’s departure, they do not even find themselves among the frontrunners for promotion and that says enough about how badly the club is run.

Wednesday are known to make some poor decisions off the pitch so Leeds need not worry themselves too much about any threat they might pose.
Hopefully, they get their recruitment right and the German can then focus on improving the players he’s got at Thorp Arch.
He’s already among the best managers in the league, if not the best so it’s exciting times ahead for Leeds fans.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
