BBC pundit makes Leeds United transfer admission amid Hull City links to Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis

BBC pundit has made a Leeds United admission as Hull City have reached a fee agreement to sign Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis.

The BBC reported on Friday (25 August) that even Swansea had joined the hunt for the 25-year-old striker as Joel Piroe left for Elland Road.

Carlton Palmer told Football League World that he was surprised Leeds are not interested in signing Davis as well this summer.

The BBC pundit said, “Hull City have agreed a fee for Aston Villa’s Keinan Davis, which is said to be around the £2million mark. However, he hasn’t agreed to move to Hull yet.

“I’m surprised that other clubs haven’t come in for him, the likes of Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Leeds. All are in the hunt for a striker.

“At £2million this is a snip, but with the deal not over the line there may be other suitors.”

Not a priority

Leeds just signed Piroe and they’ve got pressing issues in other areas of the pitch before they sign another striker.

While it would be nice to have another option ahead of Patrick Bamford in the pecking order, Daniel Farke may not be happy with the midfielders he’s got at his disposal.

There even may be a pursuit to bring in a new left-back before the window closes so it’s busy work ahead for Leeds and the German.

Davis is not going to be a starter at Elland Road so it’s pointless to even pursue his services.

They were linked with Cameron Archer and that made sense but he does seem to have Premier League aspirations.

Hopefully, Piroe is the striker they’ve been searching for and he can fire 20+ goals this season and guide them back to the top flight.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have now emerged as favourites to sign a Premier League player likened to Lionel Messi.
