BBC journalist shares key injury update on Leeds star Pablo Hernandez
Leeds United star Pablo Hernandez will return to training next week as he steps up his recovery from a hamstring injury, according to BBC Radio Leeds journalist Adam Pope.
Hernandez, 34, has missed Leeds’ last three fixtures after he was forced off three minutes into the 2-1 defeat at Fulham on December 21.
Pope reported via his personal Twitter account on Saturday that Hernandez is now close to returning to training at Thorp Arch, meaning that he cannot be too far away from a full recovery.
Hernandez has been so crucial to Leeds during Bielsa’s time in charge at Elland Road.
He has made 17 appearances in the Championship for the Whites this season, scoring three goals and supplying four assists in the process.
The former Swansea midfielder has missed nine league matches for the Yorkshire club this term and in those games, Bielsa has only managed to see his side win three times.
Hernandez is the most important player in this squad and as soon as he is back to full fitness and available to start, the sooner Leeds can really push on and open up a massive gap between themselves and third place.
In other Leeds United news, Bielsa has confirmed the four changes he will make for the clash with Arsenal on Monday.
