Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca set to sign Leeds United deal by Wednesday

Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca will reportedly sign a Leeds United contract either on Tuesday [June 14] or Wednesday.

According to the Daily Mail, the Whites are finalising an agreement with Bayern after positive talks this week.

He is all set to sign the official paperwork and become the third major signing for Leeds this summer.

Great news

It’s been five years since Leeds have signed a central midfielder so there definitely will be some sort of excitement in West Yorkshire.

That position has been the club’s Achilles heel, especially during injury crises with the likes of Robin Koch, Pascal Struijk and even Rodrigo being used as makeshift central midfielders.

Signing Roca ensures that this will not happen again, at least not as frequently as he could work in tandem with Kalvin Phillips, Stuart Dallas, Mateusz Klich and co.

While he’s not had the experience of playing in the Premier League, it would make sense for Jesse Marsch to ease him into the first team.

The pace and the physicality of the league has seen some of the most technical of players struggle, but we believe that in time Roca will come good and live up to the billing.

It’s refreshing to see Leeds make three signings with it only being mid June as they took plenty of time to get going last summer and ended up with just two first-team players and a reserve goalkeeper.

In other Leeds United news, the quest to seal another major signing takes fresh twist amid significant recent development.
