Bayer Leverkusen join race to sign Robin Koch in new Leeds United free exit twist
Bayer Leverkusen have joined the race to sign Leeds United defender Robin Koch this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.
It has been reported heavily back in Germany that Koch can leave Elland Road for free after relegation, although the club has denied this already.
Koch is being touted as a potential replacement for Jonathan Tah at Leverkusen, although West Ham and Eintracht Frankfurt have been mentioned as possible destinations too.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Plettenberg shared the latest news as another twist emerges on Koch and his potential exit from the club.
“Understand Bayer 04 Leverkusen has entered the race for Robin Koch,” he wrote.
“Concrete interest as a possible replacement for Tah. He’s also a candidate for Eintracht Frankfurt. Another club from the Premier League seems to be in the pole position for now. Open race. He can leave Leeds on free deal.”
Rubbish.
Despite it being denied by the club, this nonsense of Koch being allowed to leave for nothing continues to be forced down our throats after relegation.
Leeds have made some stupid errors recently, but letting one of their better players leave for nothing in case of relegation, which they knew was possible, would be indefensible.
With Leverkusen, Frankfurt, West Ham and even Manchester United mentioned in the mix for his signature though, one thing for sure is that the race is wide open.
Leeds need to balance the books, and the likes of Koch and Rodrigo will be main candidates to leave over the likes of Willy Gnonto and Max Wober, who the club will be desperate to keep.
This is certainly something to watch over the coming days and weeks, with Leeds looking for a new manager and players returning to pre-season in a matter of days.
Will it be sorted before that? Knowing the complexities of the transfer market, it is very unlikely.
In other Leeds United news, a BBC pundit has been left stunned as Phil Hay has dropped a fresh update on who the Whites are considering bringing in as manager this summer.
