Barry Douglas disagrees with fan claiming Leeds need eight wins for promotion
Leeds United defender Barry Douglas has disagreed with a fan claiming that the Whites need eight wins out of 10 to earn promotion to the Premier League this season.
The Scotsman claimed that Leeds will need and want to win every single one of their remaining 10 games in the Championship after brushing Hull aside on Saturday.
Leeds currently have a five-point gap to Fulham in third-place, and a win against the Cottagers would mean that they only need to win six of their eight games to secure automatic promotion.
Marcelo Bielsa will be drilling his side to win every single game, and it appears his squad have responded in exactly the right manner.
Replying to a fan on his recent Instagram post on Saturday, Douglas claimed that Leeds will need to win each one of their remaining games.
“Wrong, we need 10,” he responded.
Many Leeds fans responded to Douglas, with the majority loving his response after the commanding 4-0 win at the KCOM.
It has been another frustrating season for the former Wolves man at Elland Road, with yet another campaign that has been littered by injuries halting his progress in West Yorkshire.
Should Leeds earn promotion back to the Premier League, Douglas might not be here to experience it with Football Insider reporting that the Whites could look to sell the full-back at the end of the season.
With Leeds having players back to full fitness in midfield and Stuart Dallas returning to full-back in great form, it is hard to envisage Douglas getting another look-in this season, but we have to admit, we still love the passion on show here.
