Barcelona unwilling to pay £34m to Leeds United for Raphinha

Barcelona are reportedly not even willing to pay Leeds United £34million for the signing of Raphinha this summer.

According to 90Min Espanol journalist Juan Medina, while the move is far from happening, as things stand, the Brazilian could join for a fee lower than the aforementioned amount.

Currently, the two clubs are some way apart from the valuation for the 25-year-old but he is understood to be keen on a move to Camp Nou.

Medina wrote, “That is way far from happening my friend. Barcelona won’t even pay 40M (£34m) for Raphinha and still he may come.”

Time to play hard ball

Leeds cannot and should not get bullied by Barcelona despite Raphinha’s keenness to move to the club this summer.

They managed to avoid relegation and can now call all the shots about his potential exit.

Had they gone down to the Championship, there’s a very good chance that his exit would’ve been agreed by now.

However, thanks to his heroics against Brentford, Leeds live to fight another day and will be compensated handsomely from his exit.

These are interesting times for the Leeds hierarchy as they’re well aware of the host of clubs showing an interest in him.

They must do whatever they can to ensure that they make the most from his sale and only do business with clubs willing to pay the asking rate.
