Barcelona ready to send £33.5million offer for Leeds United star Raphinha – David Anderson

Barcelona are ready to send a £33.5million offer flying to Leeds United for Raphinha, according to David Anderson.

The Mirror journalist has reported that the Brazilian has no escape clause, and the Whites won’t sell their star man for cheap.

All of the talk has been that Barcelona won’t make their move until Leeds’ status for next season is sorted, but that looks set to change.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Anderson shared the update with money finally set to come flying in.

“Leeds will not sell Raphinha on the cheap to Barcelona with the Spanish giants understood to be preparing a £33.5million offer,” he said.

“Also Raphinha does not have an escape clause in his contract in the Premier League.”

Here we go.

No one was expecting any movement until the end of the season, but it looks as though that could change.

We highly doubt that the fee would come out if it wasn’t going to be sent imminently, so Andrea Radrizzani can expect a knock at the door soon.

£33.5million is embarrassing, Barcelona know that, but the truth is that they simply can’t afford to go much higher given their situation.

Players are having to take dramatic wage cuts to make these deals possible, and things don’t just change overnight.

Leeds have the ball in their court, and they can’t simply buckle because a club such as Barcelona is calling and Raphinha will likely want to move.

If they want their man, they will have to pay – the first thing they will have to do is double that embarrassing first offer.
