Barcelona now have the money to sign Raphinha but still don't want to pay Leeds United asking price

Barcelona now have the money to pay for Leeds United superstar Raphinha, according to Juan Luis Medina.

The 90min journalist reports that the financial aspect of any deal would not be a problem for the Spaniards anymore, although they do not want to pay the asking price.

Fabrizio Romano has shared that the Whites want at least £65million, but that could continue rising should the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea continue to sniff around.

Writing on his official Twitter account, Medina shared the latest twist which could see this saga rumble on for many more weeks at Elland Road.

“The money would not be a problem for Barça, but the club agree that they do NOT want to pay so much for it,” he wrote on Friday afternoon [24 June].

Here we go again…

Barcelona are just making this so much harder than it needs to be.

If they have the money to make a deal happen now, why don’t they just do it? They have to understand that this is a business and Deco isn’t the one holding the cards here.

They can agree all they like on personal terms and agent fees, but the only thing that matters is that they agree a fee with Leeds, something they still haven’t done.

Does them “having the money” mean they have want they want to pay available or do they actually have the £65million+ ready to go that will be needed to fire our way?

Time will tell, but Victor Orta, Angus Kinnear and Andrea Radrizzani have to be applauded for the way they aren’t just rolling over and letting it happen.

Money available or not, there are many twists and turns to come in this one – that is for sure.
