Barcelona could be set for unexpected windfall from Leeds United as Junior Firpo clause emerges
Barcelona could be set for an unexpected windfall from Leeds United if they decide to sell Junior Firpo this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish outlet has reported on its website that the Nou Camp giants hold a 20% clause on the left-back’s next move which could happen as early as the summer.
It has been described as an “unexpected” income which may fall from the sky, with Leeds only getting to keep 80% of any revenue if he was to move on.

Taking the two heavy defeats out of equation, Firpo has finally put together some consecutive starts and form for the first time since he arrived at Elland Road under Javi Gracia.
Scoring against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup and then Southampton in the crucial Premier League win, he could go a long way to securing safety.

50/50.
The fan base at Elland Road will certainly be split on Firpo and his future at the club may depend on how he performs over the next seven to eight weeks.
Should the Spaniard shine and help the club remain in the Premier League, there is no need for him to move on, although he may face competition from a new left-back.
It hasn’t worked out massively in his favour due to form, consistency and injuries, but there is no time like the present for him to prove that he has what it takes.
Leeds only have him as their one out-and-out left-back, meaning competition would be welcomed and it could even push him on to perform to even higher levels.
With Barcelona publicly struggling with their financials, it would be no surprise to see them praying for some of their older players to move on once more to activate clauses, with 16 others just like this.
It just may not be at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani may now be done investing at the club as he never liked to spend anyway
