Bamford tipped to quit Leeds, Ipswich deal on the cards
Patrick Bamford’s miserable time as a Leeds United player looks set to come to an end this summer.
Now that Leeds have sealed their promotion back to the Premier League, attention will turn to the preparation needed to give them the best possible chance of survival.
The 49ers Enterprises are already said to be deliberating over the future of Daniel Farke, while there will also be some big decisions to be made on several first-team players at Elland Road.
One of those players who could be on his way out is Bamford, who is yet to find the back of the net for the Whites this season.

Championship exit likely for Bamford this summer
Leeds will almost certainly be looking to get rid of Bamford in the transfer window, given the lack of influence he has had this season.
The Englishman has had his season tarnished with inury troubles, while being far below Joel Piroe in the pecking order, limiting the game time he has had on the pitch.
Bamford’s reported £30,000 per week wage [Football League Paper] could prove to be an obstacle for the likes of Ipswich and Southampton, who David Prutton has hinted could be the striker’s next move.
Leeds United – senior strikers in Championship 2024-25 | Appearances | Starts | Goals |
Joel Piroe | 44 | 34 | 19 |
Mateo Joseph | 37 | 11 | 3 |
Patrick Bamford | 15 | 0 | 0 |
Speaking to Football League World, the Sky Sports pundit said: “I think there’s loads of teams in the Championship that will be looking at Patrick Bamford, particularly now that Leeds have gone up.
“I would’ve said that teams that are maybe coming out of the Premier League, top-half definitely. Obviously, he’s struggled with injury and not been able to get himself back to full fitness, but just of late, he’s been used and utilised as a sub where he’s looked quite sharp and bright. He’s more than capable of fitting the bill for, I think, any of the top clubs in the Championship.”
Leeds will almost certainly be in the market for a striker this summer, which would push Bamford even further down the pecking order at Elland Road.

Leeds have a massive summer ahead
Before anything else, Leeds need to make a final decision on the future of Farke and put any uncertainty to bed if they are to have a real go back in the Premier League, only then will other plans be put into place.
Recruitment will be crucial for Leeds next season, and it is imperative that they get it right based on the growing gulf of quality between the two divisions.
The Whites will have several players that they look to offload, though, without potential suitors, it may prove to be easier said than done.
