Bamford raves about Leeds team-mate who ‘could get in the majority’ of PL teams

Patrick Bamford has offered huge praise to Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips, claiming he could play for the “majority” of teams in the Premier League.

Phillips, 24, has been fantastic for Leeds since Marcelo Bielsa was appointed in charge and many would point to his performances as being one of the big reasons why the Whites sit top of the Championship table.

Of course, there are plenty of other reasons as to why United are doing so well but Phillips’ role in the deep-lying midfield area cannot be praised enough.

Striker Bamford has now suggested that he can see Phillips playing in the Premier League in the future while also raving about on-loan defender Ben White.

“As much as a striker loves scoring goals and would love to just save your energy, be in the right position and try and score as many as you can, this team we’re in now – yes we’ve got special players like Kalvin who could get in the majority of teams in the Premier League, Ben White who is going to do really well in the future and Pablo who people would say is probably one of the best in the Championship – but the sum of our parts is greater,” Bamford said, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“All together we’re a combined unit.”

Phillips is one of the best English midfielders and he deserves all the praise that comes his way. If anything, he’s not praised enough.

The midfielder should be in the next England squad and he should be playing in the Premier League next season.

We just hope that he’s a Premier League player while still playing for Leeds.
