Marseille striker Bamba Dieng is stuck in limbo at a French airport as he gets set to decide on a move to Leeds United, according to David Ornstein.

The Athletic journalist has reported that OGC Nice have made a last-minute rival offer, leaving the 22-year-old with a decision to make before the 11 pm deadline.

Dieng has a jet on standby to fly to Leeds and will be making his decision soon which could crush the plans of Jesse Marsch, Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Ornstein shared the shock latest news regarding Dieng and how it could end up in bad news for Leeds.

“Bamba Dieng remains at a private jet terminal in France with an aircraft on standby,” he wrote.

“22-year-old forward still deciding whether to proceed with a move from Marseille to Leeds or accept a rival offer from OGN Nice.”

Oh no.

This could ruin our entire transfer window.

Dieng coming in was the perfect move in many ways, especially after the injury picked up by Rodrigo in the 1-1 draw against Everton in midweek at Elland Road.

A new number nine would give Marsch plenty of options, but having no one come in would be catastrophic for everyone at the club, with fans set to be in outrage.

Marseille are said to prefer a sale to Leeds, so hopefully, they can have a say in this with the Premier League surely also a massive draw for the Senegal international.

With Dan James looking like he is moving to Fulham, we could lose another attacking option leaving us threadbare in the final third, making that move even more dangerous.

This was negligent from the club, who allowed the Welshman to travel for his medical without being 100% clear that Dieng is coming in and signing on the dotted line.

We are no strangers to deadline day drama, but this wouldn’t be good enough.

In other Leeds United news, a four-year contract was set to be signed as personal terms are sorted for a new striker signing today at Elland Road
