Balance sheet update emerges as Leeds United defender Diego Llorente poised for Roma move

Roma will reportedly be settling their balance sheet on Friday, 30 June, ahead of potentially signing Leeds United defender Diego Llorente.

According to Voce Giallorossa [30 June], they need to obtain the necessary capital gains in order to sanction any new incomings this summer.

The Spaniard spent the second half of last season on loan at the capital outfit and Jose Mourinho wants to bring him back.

Along with Llorente, a number of first-team players will be on their way out this summer.

Make it a permanent sale

Gianluca Di Marzio reported on 27 June that the obligation to buy will be between £4.3million and £5.1million.

That’s low as they had negotiated over three times the option to buy when they sent him out on loan initially.

What’s certain is that he will leave but Roma are taking advantage of the Whites getting relegated and there’s little the club can do with Llorente wanting out.

Leeds United

Leeds, too, do not want him at the club for next season as he did not take the chances that he was given under Marcelo Bielsa or Jesse Marsch.

He’s not a good fit for English football and they’re now set to make a loss off his sale after surprisingly handing him a new deal not too long ago.

Hopefully, such decisions aren’t made under the new ownership as that’s one of the major reasons why Leeds haven’t been able to reach their true potential.

In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
