‘Average at best’, ‘That’s beautiful’ – These Leeds fans deliver mixed reaction to new third kit

Leeds announced their third kit on Monday (the fourth if you count the one-off centenary kit) and it hasn’t gone down brilliantly with all the fans.

The kit is sky blue with a nod to the traditional colours with blue and yellow stripes on the waistband and sock trim.

This is the sticking point for a number of fans, who said that the kit should have been blue and yellow – especially in the centenary year, with one fan saying, “I don’t think anyone on our board grasps the sentiment of the club”.

However, even some of the fans wanting a yellow and blue kit have admitted that they like the sky blue.

And there are plenty of fans who love it and the nod to the traditional colours on the waistband.

We’d say the sentiment is split which gives us the casting vote.

And we love it. We understand why fans want to see a yellow and blue kit but the colours on the waistband and socks, with the geometric print, give the kit a modern touch with a nod to the past.

It does look an awful lot like the Man City kit but why not emulate the best? It’s where we’re heading, after all.

It’s a big thumbs up from us and we can’t wait to see it in the flesh. The club is hoping it will get approval to wear the kit for Saturday’s game away at Sheffield Wednesday.
