Atletico Madrid set to prioritise sale of Leeds United target Matheus Cunha in January
Atletico Madrid will reportedly first listen to offers for striker Matheus Cunha amid links to Leeds United and Manchester United.
According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo [15 November], offers are set to be heard for several players but the “first to be on the starting ramp” will be the 23-year-old.
A move to the Premier League does appear to be on the cards with Manchester United also linked with a move for the Brazil international.
Avoid at all costs
Atletico are looking to get rid of a player that they do not see fit enough to play every week and he’s only made two league starts.
Even in the Champions League, all his five appearances have been off the bench and he’s not even played more than 120 minutes combined.
He’s failed to find the back of the net in the league as well as in Europe and that’s not the kind of striker Leeds would want to sign.
They need a proven goal scorer who’s on the money more often than not and is on course to be scoring 15-20 league goals this season.
Cunha will not be coming any cheap either and with Manchester United keen on signing him, the price for his services is only set to rise.
We’re unsure that Victor Orta would even look to pursue this move for a player who’s started the season in such wretched form.
