Athletic journalist delivers massive EFL Coronavirus update, some Leeds fans respond – ‘The end’
Athletic journalist Simon Hughes has said that the EFL is going to suspend all games because of the Coronavirus.
Hughes made the claim on his personal Twitter account on Friday morning after the EFL had said that all games would go ahead with fans in attendance on Thursday evening.
That sounds very much like it will happen with immediate effect, which means that tonight’s game between Fulham and Brentford will not go ahead as planned.
It’s not a massive surprise but it has led to some Leeds fans despairing already.
One said, “Here we go. The end of our automatic promotion race begins here.”

If the Championship is suspended – and that does seem like the only sensible course of action now – the next question will be what happens next?
Will the EFL void the season or will they try and resume matches in the future?
The problem with that is that no one knows when the pandemic will come under control.
If the season is voided, will Leeds and West Brom go up?
There are more questions than answers at the moment but we imagine more information will come on what is set to be a very busy news day.
