Aston Villa monitor Rodrigo Leeds United situation amid Elland Road exit links
Aston Villa are monitoring Rodrigo’s situation at Leeds United after the Spaniard was linked with a summer exit, according to CBS journalist, Ben Jacobs.
According to Cadena Cope on 7 June, the 32-year-old has emerged as a potential option for Real Madrid after Karim Benzema’s exit from the Bernabéu.
Speaking to Leeds United Ultras, Jacobs has suggested Villa, along with PSG, are interested in the Spanish forward.

“Rodrigo is being looked at by a variety of clubs,” Jacobs told Leeds United Ultras (21m 23s, 15 June).
“PSG are one to watch and I am told that Aston Villa are watching his situation very closely.”
Likely to leave
With Rodrigo one of the highest earners at Elland Road, a summer exit makes an awful lot of sense.
Following relegation to the Championship, cost-saving measures will have to be put in place. The 49ers have now taken charge but that by no means an endless stream of money will be available.
The board will have to make sensible decisions. Selling a player like Rodrigo could allow for three or four quality additions to be added during the summer.

Now, with pre-season firmly within view, it’s essential that smart and sensible decisions are made. The managerial situation needs to be rectified – and fast.
With there being no permanent boss, calls on players will have to wait. Whoever takes the job will be eager to make changes. Daniel Farke looks the most likely candidate at present.
The former Norwich boss has reportedly impressed Elland Road chiefs after holding initial talks with the board.
