Arsenal consider fresh bid for Leeds United ace Raphinha after Chelsea close in
Arsenal are reportedly considering making a fresh bid for Leeds United ace Raphinha in light of recent transfer events.
According to 90Min, Chelsea have emerged as the favourites to sign the Brazilian and have offered a fee in the region of £65million for him.
However, the Gunners do not want to give up and plan to hijack the Blues’ quest to sign the 25-year-old after they did the same thing with them.
Too late in the day
Chelsea’s offer was better and much more tempting than Arsenal’s for Raphinha and even if they throw in more money now, it seems to be done.
The Blues can offer the Brazilian Champions League football, something which their London rivals cannot, no matter how much money they throw on the table.
Raphinha gave up Champions League football for a move to Elland Road and would surely want to play in that competition sooner rather than later.
He appears all set to get his wish this summer with only the final few details needing to be ironed out before he’s announced as a Blues player.
Arsenal can try all they want to hijack the deal, but we do not see them convincing Raphinha with the lack of Champions League football.
He will also not be challenging for leagues there any time soon so it makes a lot of sense to move to West London and become a trophy winner there.
In other Leeds United news, the club have now opened talks with an ‘Incredible’ title-winning central midfielder to replace Kalvin Phillips.
