Arne Slot now ‘new favourite’ to be next Leeds United manager
Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is the “new favourite” to become the next manager of Leeds United in place of the sacked Jesse Marsch, according to a report from The Telegraph (10 February, page 5).
The Whites failed in their attempt to appoint West Brom manager Carlos Corberan, while Rayo Vallecano reportedly have blocked a move for Andoni Iraola.
Miguel Delaney reported on The Independent (9 February) that the Whites are “seriously considering” making a move for Slot, but whether he will leave the Dutch giants in the middle of the season remains unclear.

“Feyenoord coach Arne Slot is the new favourite to take over as Leeds manager in place of the sacked Jesse Marsch. Leeds have already been rebuffed by West Brom manager Carlos Corberan and Rayo Vallecano have blocked a move for Andoni Iraola,” wrote The Telegraph.
Options
Leeds must take their time and make a sensible appointment. The club must get it right this time, but there is nothing to get overexcited about at the moment.
The likes of Corberan and Iraola have both appeared to have turned down the opportunity to move to Elland Road, and Slot could do the same as well. He was named manager of the year in the Eredivisie last season, and Feyenoord could win the Eredivisie title as well this time.
They are currently two points clear at the top of the league, and he might have reservations to join Leeds who are battling for survival once again.

Another option for the Whites could be former Real Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo. ABC TV journalist, Bruno Pont, shared on Twitter (9 February) that an approach has been made to appoint the 47-year-old manager who will take time to give his final response.
The problem with Gallardo is that he doesn’t speak English and he first wants to have a grasp of the language. The manager hunt is turning out to be far from easy, but the Whites should take time to make the right call.
