Marcelo Bielsa still hasn’t signed his new contract at Leeds United, despite the new season starting on Saturday.
However, according to Argentine outlet VarskySports, fans might not have to wait too much longer.
In a tweet posted on Wednesday night, it claimed, “The club will make the extension of the Argentine coach’s contract official in the next few hours.”
The tweet also talked about Leeds being close to signing Feyenoord winger Crysencio Summerville.

White smoke day?
It would make a lot of sense if Bielsa’s new contract is announced on Thursday.
Bielsa is expected to take his first Premier League press conference today and that would surely be the prime time to make the announcement.
It would certainly cut out all the questions about his new deal.
Speaking on the Talking Shutt podcast on Wednesday, BBC journalist Adam Pope confirmed the press conference would take place on Thursday.
“We’re speaking to him tomorrow,” Pope said, “and you’d like to think the club has an answer. I’ve been told it’s just small details.”
There’s been no official word on what’s taking the contract so long to get done.
However, there’s never been a hint of worry on the Leeds side, with Bielsa taking training and overseeing major transfers such as Rodrigo and Robin Koch.
However, until it’s done there will always be concern among fans – and rightly so.
MOT Leeds News columnist Paul Robinson said that Bielsa would be the “signing of the summer” for Leeds and that until the deal was done there would always be an element of worry.
It’s inconceivable that he won’t have signed a contract before taking to the dugout at Anfield and if that’s the case, today would seem the perfect day to make it official.
