Archie Gray sends two-word message to Harry Gray after Leeds United v Harrogate Town appearance
Archie Gray has reacted after Harry Gray made his first Leeds United appearance during a 3-0 friendly win over Harrogate Town on Friday (19 July).
Goals from Junior Firpo, Georginio Rutter and Sam Chambers sealed the pre-season win at the Exercise Stadium as the 15-year-old forward made his senior debut as a second-half substitute.
After Archie’s move to Tottenham [Tottenham Hotspur, 2 July], there has been no suggestion that his young brother will follow suit and join him at the Premier League club [Inside Elland Road podcast].
Taking to Instagram on Saturday (20 July), Gray wrote: “Unreal feeling to make my debut for Leeds United, start of the journey,” to which his older brother replied: “Love it”.
More to come from Harry Gray at Leeds United?
Gray looks to be one of the most exciting prospects at Thorp Arch, and not just because of the association with his older brother.
Archie broke into the first team last season at 17 years of age, emerging as one of Daniel Farke’s most useful assets before securing a £40million move to Spurs this summer [The Athletic].
Now, a new Gray has risen at Elland Road and one who could follow the family legacy. At just 15 years of age, the centre-forward impressed at Under-18 level last season.
He netted eight times in 11 U18 Premier League matches, certainly earning his call-up to the senior squad ahead of the Harrogate friendly fixture, and could even be given more opportunities moving forward.

Considering he has now featured for the Whites, albeit in a friendly, big clubs are more likely to be keeping an eye on his development, having already been linked with Manchester City [Fichajes, 17 November] and Liverpool [HITC].
Leeds must do everything in their power to keep the young Gray, especially after losing the older brother to Tottenham earlier this month, and giving him more first-team chances could be the way to ensure that happens.
In other Leeds United news, Junior Firpo could make a transfer U-turn after what he did v Harrogate Town.
