
Archie Gray sends three-word message after Leeds United transfer sealed
Archie Gray has sent a three-word message to Alfie McCalmont after his exit from Leeds United was confirmed.
The midfielder has joined League One side Carlisle United for an undisclosed fee, as confirmed by the official Leeds United website (27 June).
The 23-year-old made two appearances for the Whites senior team during his time at Elland Road. Those matches both came in the Carabao Cup in the 2019/20 season against Salford City and Stoke City.

And sending a message of support to his former teammate on Instagram, Leeds midfielder Gray said to McCalmont: “Good luck mate.”
Bright future
The kind words of encouragement have been coming in thick and fast for the Leeds academy graduate, who was clearly well-liked at Elland Road.

But now he will begin the next chapter of his career, with the 23-year-old also clearly well-liked at Carlisle, having spent the second half of last season on loan at the club.
There, he made 19 appearances, scoring two goals as he helped his side secure promotion to League One via the playoffs.
During his time at Leeds, the academy graduate played a key role in helping both the Under-18s and Under-23s win their respective leagues.
McCalmont will definitely miss the West Yorkshire club, but he looks set to have a bright future away from Elland Road, and can use his footballing experiences so far to help Carlisle have a strong return to League One.
He is certain to be one of many exits from Leeds this summer in an expected shakeup amid the transfer window.
