Archie Gray reacts on Instagram amid Leeds United return
Archie Gray is evidently ecstatic to see Ilia Gruev back in training at Leeds United after his long-term knee injury.
The former Whites man reacted to the midfielder’s Instagram post (9 January) as he returned to the grass at Thorp Arch after a long lay-off.
Gruev was one of the main men within Daniel Farke’s set-up before his injury and now it feels like he’s going to have to fight to make his way back into the first-team.
Gray commented on the post from the Bulgarian with a ‘raised-hands’ emoji to show his delight at seeing the Bulgarian return to the grass.
Ilia Gruev returning is a massive boost for Leeds United
Although Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell did a more than decent job at holding the fort down in the absence of both Ethan Ampadu and Gruev, it doesn’t harm anything to have more than one quality option in a position.
The Championship season is long and gruelling and without the correct amount of depth among your ranks, it could easily come back and haunt you in the latter stages of the campaign.
At the moment, Farke is spoilt for choice regarding who to start in the centre of the park but if another injury crisis occurs, he’ll be more than thankful for his significant depth.

Gruev’s return will allow the German to chop and change his midfield duo and allow players the right amount of rest so they can have fresh legs in midfield for each game.
Leeds seem to be well on their way to earning Premier League promotion once again and as long as things stay as consistent as they have been this season, things should continue going swimmingly.
