Antonio Conte plans to whip Tottenham players into shape ahead of Leeds United clash
Leeds United head into the international break on the back of a 1-1 draw against Leicester City and will look to improve their form when Premier League action resumes.
They have only managed to pick up two victories so far after 11 games, drawing five and losing the other four, and things are not about to get easier heading into the New Year.
Leeds have a tough run of fixtures ahead of them, with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur immediately after the break the first port of call.
The North Londoners have a new sheriff in town after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo with Antonio Conte, and it appears the Whites will be facing a different animal when they travel to N17 later this month.
According to the Evening Standard, the Italian and his coaching crew have plans to whip the Spurs squad into shape during the break, and he will be hoping the results show immediately against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
He has scheduled a number of days of double training sessions for the next fortnight, focusing above all on conditioning.
Conte has planned a mini pre-season of gruelling fitness and tactical work, and Spurs players are set to be pushed to their limits in the days ahead.
Leeds will not be resting much during the break either, and the players not on international duty will be undergoing a lot of ‘Murder Ball’ sessions at Thorp Arch.
Given their current form, though, it does appear that the Argentine needs to tweak some things as his team are struggling to deliver.
Leeds need to resume action with a win in order to set the tone for the upcoming clashes against Brighton, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool, but Conte has other ideas.
His players will be very ready when the Elland Road outfit come to town, and the Whites will need to have an answer to every challenge thrown at them at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In other Leeds United news, Whites fans will be buzzing after reliable journo provided major injury update.
