Anton Stach writes his name in Leeds history books already with milestone moment vs Wolves
Leeds United picked up their first away win of the season against Wolves on Saturday.
Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored their first goals for Leeds against Wolves in the 3-1 win after initially going a goal down.
Anton Stach also got his name on the scoresheet with an incredible free-kick as the German midfielder continues to impress since his arrival from Hoffenheim over the summer.
As well as being arguably the best player on the pitch at Molineux, Stach’s goal also ensured he wrote his name in the Leeds United history books.
Anton Stach becomes landmark Leeds scorer with goal vs Wolves
Stach emulated Kalvin-Phillips with his free-kick against Wolves, as the 26-year-old became the first player in four years to score his first Premier League goal from a free-kick.
That is not the only thing Stach achieved over the weekend, with the German becoming the 500th goal scorer in Leeds’ history, according to LUFCDATA on X.
- 100th scorer: Peter Harrison – 1949
- 200th scorer: Alan Curtis – 1979
- 300th scorer: Clyde Wijnhard – 1998
- 400th scorer: Ramon Nunez – 2011
- 500th scorer: Anton Stach – 2025
After just six competitive appearances for the Whites, Stach’s name will already go down in United history, and supporters will be hoping he can add a few more to his tally throughout the campaign.
Although the 49ers have been criticised by the fanbase over the course of the summer, signing Stach looks to be an outstanding piece of business already.
Anton Stach is already Leeds’ most important player
Even though Leeds managed to score three against Wolves, they did not create an abundance of chances.
This has been a regular occurrence for Leeds so far this season, with Stach being Leeds’ most creative player.
If he were to get injured, a midfield consisting of Ao Tanaka and Sean Longstaff just ahead of Ethan Ampadu would still be solid.
However, they would struggle in the final third even more, as Stach is seemingly the only player for Leeds who can effectively provide a link between the midfield and attack.
