Angus Kinnear shares Leeds ‘real priority’ ahead of Premier League return

With only one month left to go until Leeds United kick off their Premier League season, there are a number of upgrades needed.

It has already been confirmed that the Whites need to upgrade their floodlights, substitute benches and media facilities.

The Yorkshire Evening Post shared that those costs usually set promoted clubs back between £5million and £10million after going up.

Leeds’ chief executive Angus Kinnear has admitted that those plans will cost the club several million over the summer, although they have bigger priorities.

“Actually our bigger focus is going to be working with the Premier League to get crowds back because that’s been the biggest disappointment, the fans haven’t been in the stadium and been able to enjoy it,” he told Leeds Live.

“The real priority is to work with the government and the Premier League to get a phased return of crowds as soon as we can.”

Kinnear has always been vocal on changes at Elland Road, and his support for the fans is no different.

Speaking at the end of season awards ceremony, the Whites chief dedicated the promotion to Andrea Radrizzani, the club legends that had passed away, and the fans.

He admitted that one of the biggest regrets of the season was that the club had achieved this without the fans present, so the quicker they can return, the better.

Leeds averaged the 10th best home support in the country last season, and that will be amazing to see with Premier League football at Elland Road – hopefully sooner rather than later.
