Angus Kinnear Leeds United exit mooted by Sky Sports pundit amid ‘unwise’ Elland Road scenario

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson believes the 49ers would be “unwise” to allow Angus Kinnear to depart Leeds United.

The Daily Mail reported on 6 June that Kinnear could well be set for a big role at Elland Road following Andrea Radrizzani’s exit.

Robinson has admitted he feels a lot less “apprehensive” in the knowledge that Kinnear will remain at Elland Road for the time being.

“It’s always interesting when a takeover happens as to who the owners see as their own team,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“They want to bring in their own people. But there’s a lot of good people at Leeds United and Kinnear is one of them. He’s very knowledgeable and a football man.

“He is business savvy and combined with his knowledge of football, it would be unwise of them to look beyond him at the moment. I think having somebody like that as part of your team who already knows the club is important.

“There will be parts of the board that are moved on as the owners look to create their own team. But actually, when you look at the club and do your due diligence.

“You’ll find good people and Angus is one of them – I would be apprehensive to think about him going at the moment. I would feel a lot more comfortable if he was kept as part of the club.”

In other Leeds United news, Angus Kinnear has been in “ongoing” talks for at least three weeks with new manager candidates.
